Tara asked:

In other words, I am going through a divorce for financial reasons. I am not going to declare bankruptcy, medications without a prescription but need legal assistance to deal with creditors. I have a small but steady source of income; enough to pay for a lawyer on a payment plan and enough to pay back what I will owe to bills and creditors, but the creditors WILL NOT work with me and I want to do it all through a lawyer.

I make too much to qualify for Legal Aid or any other assistance of that sort.

My husband and I tried Legal Aid to get custody of his kids and we were even set up with an attorney for custody. But, she would never call us back and when the court date came, she never showed nor called us. We don’t have $3,000 readily available for an attorney. My family is greedy and his does not have that kind of funds and the ones that do are greedy also. We need an attorney who will work pro bono. Any suggestions?
