He is 19, offended in MN. Was .067 but MN has a “Not A Drop Law” for minors, so it is considered a DWI. He goes to court in a couple of weeks. Has not gotten an attorney, because he has no $. When he goes to court, does he just plead guilty? Will he be thrown in jail because he does not have $ for a fine? Does anyone know?

If this is his first offense, he will likely get probation. It is also possible that his driver’’s license may be suspended. He may have a fine and or community service imposed. I hope you will have a talk with your son about the dangers of drunk driving. He could kill himself, or kill someone and be looking at vehicular manslaughter. Let him take this as a serious warning.
If this is his first charge, it is unlikely that he will face incarceration. When he goes to court, his first court date is an arraignment. He does not need a lawyer for this, and since the charge could result in jail time he will qualify for a court appointed lawyer. His license will be revoked for 90 days, he will have to pay fines, and take a class, the judge might make him attend AA meetings as a Probation Condition. Also, he can chose to represent himself and speak privately with the DA, if your son says the right things, and is not well known in the court system, the DA will work with him.
He won’t go to jail. He will lose his license until he’s 21 (not 90 days like the other person is guessing), have huge fines, alcohol school and probably have to attend AA meetings. .06 is pretty close to the legal limit anyway, but people under 21, it’s ANY measureable alcohol level, so if he was found at .01, he would have been busted. Dumb move.
